Pastor Mike explains his theological opposition to altar calls. Reflecting on his 29 years of ministry, he argues that altar calls lack a New Testament mandate and dangerously confuse an outward physical act with a supernatural, inward new birth. He critiques methods popularized by Billy Graham and Charles Finney, asserting that they offer a superficial view of human depravity by appealing to human will rather than sovereign grace. Ultimately, Abendroth urges pastors to reject preacher-driven compliance and rely strictly on preaching the biblical commands to repent and believe.   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/aTMfr7Dbv6o  No Compromise Radio “Always biblical, always provocative, always in that order.” Video Episode 67: “No Altar Calls" Hosts: Pastor Mike Abendroth (Pastor & Author) Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)

Pastor Mike stresses the vital need for Christ-centered preaching and daily living, warning against churches that only include Jesus "theoretically" in their statements of faith rather than "operationally" in their sermons and family lives. He references theologian Graham Goldsworthy to emphasize that everything—including preaching the law—must be viewed through the lens of Christ and handled out of gratitude for His grace. The episode transitions into a textual study of Mark 16, where Mike addresses the complexities of the gospel's different manuscript endings regarding the resurrection. He ultimately weaves in a personal anecdote about confronting a Jehovah’s Witness at his doorstep, showcasing a real-world commitment to defending Jesus as the eternal Son of God.   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gL2tgp0BnTs  No Compromise Radio “Always biblical, always provocative, always in that order.” Video Episode 66: “Preaching the Law" Hosts: Pastor Mike Abendroth (Pastor & Author) Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)

(Part of the NoCo   series).

In this episode, Pastor Mike explores the weight of "famous last words," contrasting the final utterances of historical figures like Beethoven and Socrates with the seven statements spoken by Jesus Christ on the cross . He emphasizes the extreme physical agony of crucifixion, noting that while every breath was a struggle, Jesus used His remaining strength to pray for the forgiveness of those who mocked and executed Him . The discussion highlights the contrast between the uncertain or despairing words of unbelievers and the hope-filled declarations of those who trust in Christ’s finished work, presenting Jesus as a willing Savior whose heart is uniquely inclined to embrace sinners. Pastor Mike addresses the pervasive struggle with covetousness and the biblical call for sacrificial giving. He examines the "rich fool" in Luke 12, who prioritized earthly security through bigger barns, contrasting him with those who are "rich toward God". Abendroth introduces the "100% principle," arguing that instead of focusing on a 10% tithe, Christians should recognize that everything they own belongs entirely to the Lord as His stewards. By looking to the example of the Macedonian churches and the ultimate sacrifice of Christ—who became poor to make believers spiritually rich—the episode challenges listeners to embrace a lifestyle of cheerful and intentional generosity. Pastor Mike delves into the profound theological weight of the single Greek word Tetelestai, famously translated as "It is finished". He explores how this word signifies the successful completion of Jesus Christ's mission on earth—His substitutionary death on the cross for sinners . To provide deeper context, Mike explains the word's historical use among servants, who would declare "Tetelestai" to their masters once a specific job or assignment was fully accomplished . By framing Jesus as the ultimate "suffering servant," the discussion emphasizes that His final cry from the cross was not one of defeat, but a triumphant declaration that the work of redemption was perfectly and eternally completed. Pastor Mike and special guest Austin Hobbs delve into the essential nature of saving faith, by discussing the flaws of Jeffrey E. Wilson’s booklet, “The Authentic Gospel." The discussion explores the historical "firestorm" between free grace theology and lordship salvation, critiquing the dangers of "easy believism"—the idea that one can be saved without becoming a disciple—while also warning against the theological pendulum swinging too far toward legalism. Centered on the doctrine of “Sola Fide” (Faith Alone), the hosts distinguish between the Roman Catholic view of infused grace and the Protestant conviction that justification is a free gift received by faith, protecting the purity of the gospel from being tied to human works. Pastor Mike explores the forensic nature of justification, using the classic analogy of snow covering a "dung pile" to illustrate how Christ’s righteousness covers the believer's sin . He issues a "Kooks and Barney's" award to Andy Stanley for suggesting that the foundation of the Christian faith is historical events rather than the authoritative Scripture, a view Mike counters by highlighting Jesus' own absolute reliance on the Old Testament. The episode also features a recommendation for Arnold Dallimore’s biography of George Whitefield, a clarification on the distinct categories of justification and sanctification, and a discussion on the biblical reality of demon possession. Ultimately, Mike concludes that the most effective response to spiritual darkness is the simple and powerful preaching of the gospel, which allows the Holy Spirit to displace the demonic. Pastor Mike explores the complex and often anxiety-inducing topic of the "unpardonable sin," otherwise known as the "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit". Drawing from Luke 12, Mike explains that while all manner of sins—including those committed by individuals like David, Paul, and Peter—can be forgiven through Christ, this specific sin involves a persistent and obstinate rejection of God’s truth . He clarifies the historical context, noting that the Pharisees committed this offense by attributing Jesus' undeniable miracles to the power of Beelzebub rather than the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the episode serves to reassure believers that those who are truly saved are "sealed" by the Spirit and cannot lose their salvation, distinguishing between a Christian's daily struggle with sin and the definitive, slanderous rejection of the Messiah . Pastor Mike explores the profound contrast between the broken oaths of human leaders and the unwavering faithfulness of God. Using Luke 12 as a guide, he delves into the specific promises of Jesus, emphasizing the "eternal perspective" that should guide a believer’s life on earth. The discussion centers on the "warm encouragement" found in Jesus' promise to acknowledge His followers before the angels and the Father, an assurance meant to provide comfort and courage in the face of persecution and daily hardships. Mike concludes that while the world is "littered" with failed vows, every promise of God finds its certain "Yes" in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jaime grew up in small-town Massachusetts. Having grown up a nominal Roman Catholic, Jaime had little interest in God beyond maintaining a veneer of morality, which he often cast off at his own convenience. By God’s grace, while in college, Jaime was born again while hearing a sermon on Luke 15. Upon graduation, Jaime served as a police officer, but after three years, though he loved the work, he resigned and moved to Louisville, Kentucky to pursue a Master of Divinity. During his studies, he met Dr. Mark Dever, Senior Pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, and moved to Washington, DC to be an intern and serve as Mark’s personal assistant for the next two years. After this time, he moved to Providence, RI and served as Associate Pastor at Grace Harbor Church for the next year and a half. Jaime was called to be Senior Pastor of Tremont Temple in April of 2017. He is married to Adriana and is daddy to Mercy, Audrey, Jack, and Noah. Jaime holds a B.S. from Bridgewater State University in Criminal Justice, an M.Div from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Th.M with a focus on preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Jaime also serves as an adjunct professor in the Biblical and Religious Studies program at Sattler College in Boston.

Jaime’s interests include history and literature, woodworking, a bit of surfing, daily hand grinding his pour over coffee with the help of Jack and Noah, running and barbell training, and short family adventures.

Pastor Mike explores the central offense and power of the gospel: the "scandal" of the cross. The episode begins with a "Kooks and Barney's" segment critiquing the teaching style of Steven Furtick before transitioning into a deep theological reflection on why the message of a crucified Messiah is inherently offensive to human pride. Drawing from the New Testament, Mike contrasts the worldly search for signs and wisdom with the "folly" of the cross, which remains the power of God for salvation. The discussion serves as a call to return to Christ-centered theology over man-centered prosperity. Watch on YouTube. He critiques the rise of biblical numerology and self-appointed apostles through his "Kooks and Barney's Award," specifically refuting the idea that specific times like "5:55" hold prophetic power. Mike recommends Ian Murray’s *The Forgotten Spurgeon* as essential reading for those exploring the doctrines of grace and highlights the translational failures of “The Message” paraphrase . Austin shares his personal testimony, describing his transition from a moralistic church background to a deep, grace-centered understanding of the gospel. The conversation centers on Jesus Christ as the "Prince of Preachers" and explores His "prophetic office"—one part of the threefold office of prophet, priest, and king. Mike and Luke discuss the distinctions between preaching and teaching, suggesting that while teaching may focus on technical exegesis, preaching is a special, ordained act intended to give Christ to people burdened by sin and trials . They also provide guidance on how congregants should evaluate a church, urging listeners to prioritize the "three marks" of a true church—faithful preaching of the gospel, proper administration of the sacraments, and church discipline—over secondary factors like musical style or facility amenities . The episode concludes with a reflection on the ultimate purpose of ministry: consistently revealing the "glories of Christ" to the congregation .   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/boyDuXBaZps

They critique recent theological shifts, such as Kirk Cameron’s move toward annihilationism, and discuss the complexities of Protestants utilizing the works of Thomas Aquinas. The conversation also addresses concerns regarding the popular teachings of John Comer, the decline of "celebrity Christianity," and the rise of Christian nationalism among young believers. Luke, who now serves as a pastor at Redemption Church North County in Carlsbad, reflects on how his father maintained a "normal" family environment while instilling a strong sense of family identity and the responsibility of representing their name. The discussion emphasizes that a pastor’s home should mirror any other godly Christian home, highlighting the importance of making the Bible engaging for children through creative family worship and acknowledging the validity of masculine emotion. Luke, who now serves as a pastor himself at Redemption Church North County, reflects on his upbringing, noting that while his father aimed to keep their home life "normal," there was an inherent sense of family identity and responsibility that influenced his conduct. The duo explores the importance of making family worship engaging through creative storytelling and props, while also discussing the balance of grace-driven obedience and the validity of masculine emotion in the Christian life. Ultimately, they emphasize that a pastor’s household should mirror the godly standards expected of every Christian family, built on a foundation of love and communion rather than legalism.   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gedrUTD_hoU

He critiques the use of popular Christian cliches and the "Message" bible paraphrase, arguing that such paraphrases can water down biblical definitions of sin. After distinguishing the Protestant doctrine of justification by faith from Roman Catholic views on transformation, the episode concludes with a primary teaching on miracles. Pastor Mike argues that biblical miracles were spectacular and undeniable events designed specifically to authenticate the messenger and the message during key redemptive eras, rather than being standard experiences for the modern day.   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/JNKNe8vBFMA

In this episode Pastor Mike discusses the theological concept of the divine decree, exploring its nature as God’s eternal and singular purpose for all of history. He uses this session to explain that God’s decree is singular, free from external influence, wise, effectual, and all-encompassing. Drawing from the Westminster Shorter Catechism and his new book, “The Chosen”, he argues that understanding God as a sovereign King means recognizing that nothing—from the death of Jesus to the fall of a sparrow—occurs outside of His predetermined plan. Ultimately, he concludes that this doctrine should not cause frustration but should instead lead believers to a place of humility, trust, and worship. In this episode of No Compromise Radio, Pastor Mike explores the biblical narrative of Mary and Martha from Luke 10:38–42 to provide a framework for healthy Christian ministry. Addressing pastors and laypeople alike, Mike warns that losing focus on Jesus leads to "ministry burnout," resentment, and a "pity party" mentality. He contrasts Martha’s "distracted" service with Mary’s "good portion"—the countercultural act of sitting at the Lord's feet as a disciple. By linking this passage to the Great Commandments, the episode argues that while service is necessary, the primary "means of grace" must be prioritized to sustain a life of faith and prevent ministerial frustration. Pastor Mike argues against the common misconception that sanctification is primarily the believer's effort (synergistic). Instead, he asserts the technical and proper definition is that sanctification is fundamentally the monergistic work of God's free grace, as the sanctifier, through the Holy Spirit. Mike distinguishes between positional sanctification (set apart at justification) and progressive/practical sanctification (the subsequent process of holy living, dying to sin, and living to righteousness). He emphasizes that a Christian's response to God's work is first by faith—believing they are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ (union with Christ) before yielding the fruit of obedience. Pastor Mike focuses on the importance and benefit of using catechisms, creeds, and confessions as supplements to studying the Bible. He argues that these resources, such as systematic theology or a confession, help believers "get their arms around" the vast content of the 66 books of the Bible by providing concise summaries and instruction. While affirming that God's Word is the final, supreme authority (sola scriptura), he highlights how catechisms protect the church from "celebrity pastors" by establishing a shared, time-tested theological foundation, and provide a means for unity among different reformed groups (like the "three forms of unity": Dort, Heidelberg, and Belgic Confession). This episode of No-Co Radio is framed around the ironic concept of “how to be a boring Bible teacher” which the host uses as a contrast to teach listeners how to be effective and engaging in their teaching and preaching. He outlines specific pitfalls to avoid to prevent being a "boring Bible teacher." These pitfalls include scolding people instead of using the Word to gently wound and kill, speaking in a flat, monotone way that lacks enthusiasm, teaching too long, using the Bible as a Star Spangled Banner springboard without digging into the text, and forgetting about the people you're teaching by not crafting the sermon with their life circumstances in mind.  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/TNOX7TrQpgw

Pastor Mike presents a detailed discussion about the supernatural events surrounding the crucifixion and death of Jesus as recorded in Matthew chapters 27 and 28. He argues that the author, Matthew, includes a series of supernatural signs to "grease the wheels" and prepare the reader to understand the resurrection of Jesus as the ultimate supernatural event. He focuses on five specific signs that occurred around the time of Jesus's death: darkness over the land , the curtain of the temple being torn in two , an earthquake that split the rocks, the tombs opening and dead saints being raised, and the centurion's supernatural conversion and declaration that Jesus was the Son of God. Pastor Mike focuses on the purpose of Jesus's first coming as contrasted with the misunderstanding of His disciples. The context is drawn from Luke 9:51-56, where Jesus, resolutely set on going to Jerusalem, sends messengers ahead to a Samaritan village. He urges listeners to adopt Jesus's attitude of compassion and mercy toward enemies and unbelievers, focusing on salvation rather than vengeance, which is reserved for the second coming and God's discretion. Pastor Mike speaks on reading and studying the Bible, offering motivation and practical advice for both new and mature Christians. He provides three core motivations for study: the blessing of simply possessing an affordable Bible today, the Bible's unique nature as the divinely inspired Word of God that transforms believers, and the availability of numerous translations and tools like study Bibles. Mike also advises listeners to avoid "randomly opening" the Bible ("flipping") or reading too fast without understanding, and suggests the key strategies of "sinking sections" (dividing the Bible into its major parts, like Law, History, Poetry, Gospels, etc.) and understanding the different “genres” (like poetry, which uses parallelism). The main theme of this No-Co Radio episode is comfort, specifically regarding the security and assurance found in Romans 8:1: "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". Pastor Mike emphasizes that a believer's justified standing before God is permanent, secured by Christ's perfect righteousness and finished work. This strong language of "no condemnation" means it is "impossible" for a Christian to be condemned, as all sins—past, present, and future—have been paid for, providing immediate assurance for both living and facing death. Pastor Mike discusses how to read the Bible by using the Book of Job as a guide. He explains that since the Book of Job is believed to be the first book written, it can be a "decoder" for understanding the rest of the Bible through the questions it raises. Mike proposes that the Book of Job foreshadows three key questions that are answered throughout the Bible: Does God forgive sin? Is there a mediator? And, is there a resurrection? He argues that these questions, prompted by Job's suffering, lead readers to look for Jesus in every part of the Bible. Pastor Mike discusses how to read the Old Testament with a sense of anticipation for Jesus as the Ultimate King and Messiah. He then presents an outline for the show, which includes looking at the need for a Messiah, examining potential false Messiahs, and finally, focusing on Jesus as the true Messiah. He uses Genesis 3 as a starting point, highlighting the sin of Adam and Eve and the subsequent need for a savior. Throughout the Old Testament, he points to figures like Cain, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Samson, and David, all of whom fail to be the promised Messiah because of their sins. Pastor Mike concludes by asserting that reading the Old Testament with this anticipation makes the arrival of Jesus in the New Testament all the more joyful, as he is the one who triumphs where others failed, ultimately fulfilling God's promises. In an episode of No-Co Radio, Pastor Mike introduces a concept he calls "alphabet theology," which involves thinking through God's attributes from A to Z to properly reframe problems. Mike emphasizes the importance of "gazing on the Lord" rather than problems. He focuses on three specific attributes based on the acronym MCG: God's might, His care, and His grace, using verses from 1 Peter chapter 5 to illustrate each point. He argues that a proper understanding of these attributes can help individuals humbly accept their circumstances, cast their anxieties on God, and trust in His provision, even when facing difficult situations like job loss, family illness, or death. He highlights that God is strong enough to sustain people through their trials and that He cares enough to do so.  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Nm8NBIjtD_8

In this episode of No-Co Radio, Pastor Mike discusses the theological concepts of “Law and Gospel” drawing on the works of Martin Luther and other theologians. Pastor Mike explains that the "law" represents a command, something you must “do”, and serves to show unbelievers their sin and need for a Savior. In contrast, the "gospel" is the good news of what has been “done” through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He argues that understanding this distinction is key to answering core Christian questions, such as "How do you know you're a Christian?" and "What is the essence of Christianity?". He emphasizes that the answers lie not in human actions (law), but in God's completed work through Jesus (gospel).  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4GClmheqTuw

No-Co Radio host Pastor Mike Abendroth discusses the concept of "party spirits," or the tendency for Christians to believe that God only works within their specific theological group. He recounts a story from Luke 9:49, where John tells Jesus they tried to stop someone from casting out demons because "he does not follow with us". Mike uses this as a starting point to argue that Christians should rejoice when Christ is proclaimed, even by those with different theological views, such as those from Calvary Chapel or Arminian denominations. He admits that while he holds strong theological convictions—subscribing to the London Baptist Confession of 1689 and believing in the five points of Calvinism, for example—he believes it's important to show charity and kindness to other Christians.  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/mx1jSvk8kxQ

Pastor Mike focuses on the dangers of mysticism within evangelicalism, which he considers a significant problem. Mike defines mysticism as receiving God's truth from internal, subjective sources like feelings, intuition, and personal revelations rather than from the external source of the Bible. He argues that human nature is totally depraved since Adam's fall, making internal impressions and feelings unreliable and untrustworthy. The main topic is how to read the Book of James, which Mike describes as being filled with over 50 imperatives or commands in about 100 verses. To help listeners understand the book, he explains its historical context, noting that it was likely the first New Testament book written, around 44-46 A.D., about 10-15 years after Jesus's resurrection. Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  In this podcast episode of "No Compromise Radio," host Mike Abendroth discusses the theological concept of "limited atonement," arguing that Jesus died only for the elect, not for every person ever born. He addresses common counterarguments, particularly interpretations of "world" in John 3:16 and "whole world" in 1 John 2:2, explaining that the term "world" in these contexts refers to humanity as a whole, including Gentiles, rather than every individual. Mike bases his primary argument for limited atonement on the Trinity, asserting that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share a single will, and since the Father chooses only some for salvation, the Son's atonement must also be for that chosen group.  Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Rx5CBZ5ApjM

He refutes the idea of blaming personal sins like anxiety, lust, or drunkenness on demonic influence, attributing these instead to human flesh as described in Galatians 5. Mike also touches on where demons exert influence today, suggesting they infiltrate authority structures and promote false teachings, such as those forbidding marriage or certain foods, to gauge holiness. Pastor Mike Abendroth dives into the often-overlooked art of listening to a sermon, using insights from the great 18th-century preacher George Whitefield. Drawing from Whitefield’s six key principles, Mike discusses how believers should approach sermons—not merely as passive listeners, but as active worshipers seeking transformation. He emphasizes the importance of coming with a teachable heart, diligently paying attention, avoiding undue criticism of the preacher, and making personal applications of the message. Mike also unpacks the need for prayer before, during, and after a sermon, recognizing that true spiritual change depends on God’s power. Filled with humor, historical anecdotes, and biblical wisdom, this episode is a practical guide for those who want to maximize their engagement with God’s Word every Sunday.   Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/P6zhFN2Dvqs Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)

In this episode, Pastor Mike Abendroth continues his deep dive into the power of the tongue, building on last week's discussion from James 3. He explores the biblical principles of speech, highlighting both the destructive and redemptive potential of our words. With wit, personal stories, and rich theological insights, Mike unpacks Matthew 12:36 and reassures believers that while we will not be judged for our sins—because Christ bore that judgment—our words still matter greatly. He offers practical wisdom on how to replace sinful speech with godly encouragement, gratitude, and truth. From lessons on repentance and forgiveness to the impact of simple phrases like “I love you” and “I’m praying for you,” this episode challenges listeners to use their words to build up rather than tear down. A must-listen for anyone seeking to honor Christ with their speech.   Video Episode 7: “Redeeming Words” Hosts: Pastor Mike Abendroth (Pastor & Author) Produced/Edited By: Marrio Escobar (Owner of D2L Productions)  Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_W_hxRbJvuE

Mike shares his background growing up in a nominally Lutheran home, his years of spiritual indifference, and the turning points that led him to truly embrace Christ. In this episode of “No Compromise Radio” Pastor Mike Abendroth delves into the essential distinction between Law and Gospel, breaking down its theological significance and practical application for believers. Using insights from his new book “Law & Gospel: A Primer”, Mike explains how the Law reveals sin, restrains evil, and guides believers, while the Gospel proclaims the finished work of Christ. He highlights the dangers of conflating the two, discusses assurance of salvation, and critiques heavy-handed preaching that burdens rather than frees. With humor, personal anecdotes, and pastoral wisdom, Mike also explores how this framework impacts parenting, evangelism, and daily Christian living. If you've ever struggled with assurance or wondered how Law and Gospel function in your faith, this episode is a must-listen. (Part of the NoCo   series).
Pastor Mike Abendroth continues the discussion on doubt and assurance, expanding on Jesus’ words in Luke 7. He contrasts the struggles of believers with the hardened rejection of the Pharisees, illustrating how self-righteousness blinds people to their need for salvation. Through an engaging mix of biblical teaching, personal reflections, and humor, Mike unpacks how Jesus responded to John the Baptist’s doubt with kindness and affirmation while condemning the obstinate unbelief of those who rejected both John and Jesus. He explores the parable of the "spoiled brats" who refuse to engage, whether in the somber call to repentance or the joyous call to grace, drawing parallels to modern-day skeptics. This episode serves as both an encouragement for Christians wrestling with assurance and a sobering reminder of the consequences of rejecting God's truth. In this episode of “No Compromise Radio”, Pastor Mike Abendroth dives into the profound themes of doubt and assurance in the Christian faith, drawing from Luke 7 and other scripture. Mike examines John the Baptist's moment of doubt while imprisoned, exploring the distinction between doubt and unbelief and highlighting Jesus' compassionate response. Through a blend of theological insight and personal anecdotes, Mike reflects on the struggles believers face in reconciling trials with faith. The episode also features a discussion on the metaphor of triumph in scripture, parallels with Roman celebrations, and the ultimate vindication found in Christ. Three Imputations (Part 3)!

(Part of the Classic   series).
threeimputations Today on NoCo, we listen in to the continuation of a message that Pastor Mike recently preached at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston, MA on the three imputations from Romans 5:12-21 Pastor Mike preaches verse-by-verse, so please open up your Bible to Romans 5:12-21. By no personal fault of your own Adam sinned and God credits your account with that sin; and by no personal merit or work of your own Jesus Christ lives righteously and through faith alone credits His righteousness to you. For the definition of imputation turn to Philemon 18: If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. Imputation means to count it toward someone else (to credit it to someone else). This is important because this is the way God does things in the world-this is a Biblical truth. Three Biblical Imputations: 1. Adam's sin was imputed to all of his decedents 2.Christ, though not a sinner, has our sins credited to His account-this is the concept of substitution. Pastor Mike interviews his brother Pat Abendroth on today's show. Pat is the Senior Pastor of Omaha Bible Church in Omaha, Nebraska.  Listen in as they talk about a recent conference at Bethlehem Bible Church and a variety of other topics. Pat is originally from Omaha and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. It was during his time at UNL that Pat was converted and became a Christian. After earning his Masters degree from The Master's Seminary in Southern California and serving in two college pastorates, Pat came to Omaha Bible Church as Senior Pastor in 1998. Pat and his wife Molly met at UNL and were married in 1991. They have five children. Seeing Christ exalted and lives transformed through expository preaching is the driving pastoral passion for Pat. Beyond proclaiming Christ at Omaha Bible Church, it is a pleasure for Pat to be involved in training pastors in the U.S. and abroad. If you see Pat away from a pulpit, he will likely be either doing a flip on a wakeboard or peddling like mad training for a road race. It would be an understatement to say he enjoys both sports. Pat is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Ministry program at the Ligonier Academy of Biblical and Theological Studies. See what’s going on in Pat’s Theology for Breakfast men’s group here.
