1-Corinthians Original Air Date: 8.20.2012   Recently Pastor Mike preached this sermon at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston, MA. Pastor Mike preaches verse-by-verse, so please open up your Bible to 1 Corinthians 8 and Romans 14 and follow along. How do you come to Christ Jesus? On your own? With God's help? OR Were you brought to Christ by God Himself? What is Sovereign Grace? What is Election? If you are a Christian, you did not decide to become a Christian on your own. Nor did you simply decide to cooperate with God. God alone made you a Christian--and our response is: repentance, faith, belief, and a desire to follow Christ Jesus. In Romans 14, we see the response of Christians, in regards to Christian liberty, as one as a response to Christian love initiated by Christ Jesus. Romans 14 helps us understand 1 Corinthians 8. How do the weak live with the strong? How do the strong live with the weak? How are we to love other Christians? Three Requirements To Keep Christ's Church Unified, Even though We Have Differences In Debatable Areas: 1. Strive for harmony

Original Air Date: 7.30.2012 On today's episode we listen to Part III of a sermon that Pastor Mike recently preached at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston, Massachusetts. Please open your Bible to 1 Corinthians 8 and follow along. We have received the love of God. So how are we to treat other Christians? Sometimes we forget how God has loved us; and when we forget that, we forget how we are supposed to treat other people. Again the central questions are What do we do with gray areas of the Bible? and not can I do this, but should I do this? Even though you can do something, you must always think how your action will reflect and demonstrate the love we are supposed to constantly be showing to other people. Thus, even though you can do something, does not always mean that you should do it. Watch Words For Dealing With Gray Areas In The Christian Life (Review): 1. Be Humble 2. Build Up Instead Of Puff Up 3. None Of You Have Arrived 4. Remind Yourself That What You Are You Are By Devine Grace Alone 5. You Can Study The Bible To Remove Unneeded Offenses

Please open your Bible to 1 Corinthians 8 and follow along. When the Bible is silent about something, what do we do? When there is a debate in Christianity about what is right and what is wrong, what do we do? Today the central question is: not can I do this, but should I do this? Even though you can do something, you must always think how your action will reflect and demonstrate the love we are supposed to constantly be showing to other people. Thus, even though you can do something, does not always mean that you should do it. Watch Words For Dealing With Gray Areas In The Christian Life (Review): 1. Be Humble 2. Pastor Mike continues in this series on the doctrine of Federal Headship. We are all born as sinners through Adam and continue to sin against a holy God. Death got the upper-hand through one man's wrong doing. So, how can you be saved from the penalty of your sin and from the wrath of God?--God's gift of Jesus Christ. But how can we be saved through one man? Pastor Mike discusses Romans 5:12-21 and how an unrighteous person can be declared righteous through federal representation--Jesus Christ is greater than sin and greater than Adam. Pastor Mike also looks at other translations to see how Federal Headship is explained, or as you can probably guess, not explained. If you are looking for a good translation of the Bible you should look for a good "word-for-word" translation ( NAS, ESV, or NKJV )
