Mike’s passion is preaching the Bible in a verse-by-verse fashion and training other men to do the same. He graduated from The Master’s Seminary in 1996 (M. Div.), received his doctorate in Expository Preaching at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2006 (D. Min.), and is an adjunct professor at EBTC (European Bible Training Center) and The Master’s Seminary (Doctoral Mentor). Pastor Mike is also the author of Jesus Christ: The Prince of Preachers (DayOne, 2007)The Sovereignty and Supremacy of King Jesus (DayOne, 2011)Things that Go Bump in the Church (Harvest House, 2014), Discovering Romans (Zondervan, 2014), Sexual Fidelity (NoCo Media, 2015) and Evangelical White Lies (NoCo Media, 2016). He is overwhelmed at God’s grace in his salvation and for his family (Kim, Hayley, Luke, Maddie and Grace). Mike has been the Senior Pastor at Bethlehem Bible Church (BBC) in West Boylston, MA since April 1997. When not enjoying his family, Mike is often seen on this.

1346003_bible_collage_4SMAK! Are your Bible studies always placed on the back burner? Are you an immature Christian because you do not know how to study your Bible? Do you lack Bible study tools? Is there not enough time in the day to read and study the Word of God? -Then this NoCo episode is just for you! Just because you may be a layperson does not mean that you should not study your Bible with vigor and enthusiasm.
  1. We need to be diligent (the Greek word for diligent is Spoudazo) studiers of our Bibles. We need to accurately handle the Word of God.

  1. If you are a Pastor, Bible study leader, Sunday School teacher, you need to study your Bible.
  1. Immature Christians need to study their Bible to become more mature Christians.
  1. When you study the Bible you should find out what the text means, not what it means to me.
  1. Ask your Pastor for tools to help you become a good studier of the Bible. Here are some tools to assist you in getting started:
    • A good English translation Bible: ESV, NAS, NKJ
    • A good study Bible: MacArthur Study Bible, ESV Study Bible, Reformation Study Bible
    • A good concordance (there are many that you can find on your computer)
    • A Bible dictionary
    • MacArthur Commentary Set, Expositors Bible Commentary Series (computer version)
    • A plan to study The Bible
